Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED
Course Synopsis:
The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Total Course Path: 5 hrs
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Includes adult and pediatric training.
Adult First Aid, CPR, AED Path: 2.5 hrs
Educator First Aid, CPR, AED: 3 hrs
Office First Aid, CPR, AED: 2.5 hrs
Adult First Aid, or CPR/AED Path: 2 hrs
Certification Length:
Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.
Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Training
Course Synopsis:
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course trains participants how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Course Synopsis:
The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Pediatric Advanced Life Support training for their clinical duties. Utilizing a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, Cognitive Assessment Activities, illustrations, knowledge checks and interactive activities, this program teaches PALS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency and adaptability to different learning styles. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each knowledge check and each Cognitive Assessment Activity.

- Differentiation between patients who do require and do not require immediate interventions
- Performance as a high-performance team member
- Differentiation between respiratory distress and respiratory failure

- Early interventions for the treatment of shock

AHA BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers
Course Synopsis:
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It's intended for participants who provide heath care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. For certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Courseis available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. All Heartsaver CPR AED course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA Course Completion Card.

Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Training
Course Synopsis:
The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Intended Audience:
Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. For many Heartsaver courses, students receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years. Heartsaver First Aid is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Course Synopsis:
The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Intended Audience:
For healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response
What does this course teach?
- Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
- Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
- Airway management
