Who it is meant for

Healthcare professionals such as nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, FireFighters, Police Officers, and other responders who need provider-level CPR, AED, and team response training.

Prerequisites

No advanced provider credential is listed as a general prerequisite, but students should select BLS Provider when their employer, school, or certification program requires healthcare-provider CPR.

AHA BLS Provider

Basic Life Support training for healthcare providers.

BLS Provider CPR is built for healthcare professionals, EMS students, public safety personnel, and other responders who need high-quality CPR, AED use, and coordinated team response skills.

Course formats

Students may take a full instructor-led classroom course or complete HeartCode BLS online before attending an in-person hands-on skills session.

Completion card

Students who complete all BLS course requirements receive an AHA BLS Provider Course Completion Card valid for two years.

Continuing education

CE/CME credit availability depends on the BLS course option and the student profession.
