AHA ACLS covers advanced adult cardiovascular emergency response, team dynamics, cardiac arrest priorities, stroke considerations, and post-cardiac arrest care.

Who it is meant for

Advanced healthcare providers who participate in adult cardiovascular emergency care, including cardiac arrest and peri-arrest response.

Prerequisites

Students should have current provider-level CPR/BLS skills and the clinical background needed for advanced cardiovascular life support content.

AHA ACLS

Advanced cardiovascular emergency training.

ACLS is intended for advanced healthcare providers who participate in the management of adult cardiac arrest, peri-arrest conditions, and other cardiovascular emergencies.

Course formats

Students may take an ACLS classroom course or complete HeartCode ACLS online before attending an in-person hands-on skills session.

Completion card

Students who complete all ACLS course requirements receive an AHA Provider Course Completion Card valid for two years.

Continuing education

CE/CME credit availability depends on the ACLS course option and the student profession.
